Are you thinking about recruiting an apprentice for your business? If so you may be eligible for the Apprenticeship incentive payment.
If you hire an apprentice before 31 March 2021, you will be entitled to one of the below grants:
If you hire an apprentice between 1 April 2021 and 30 September 2021, the amount payable has been increased to £3,000 per Apprentice, regardless of age.
The payments are in addition to the £1,000 employers already receive for hiring an apprentice.
How to apply
! IMPORTANT !
A very important note to make regarding the apprenticeship incentive payment – to be eligible to claim the payment, you MUST set up an “apprenticeship service account” before you employ your apprentice. Without the account in place before your employees start date, you will not be able to claim for the incentive payment.
You can then only apply for the incentive once you have added your apprentice to your service account. For any employees starting before 1 April 2021, you have until 30 April 2021 to apply.

How will I get paid?
HMRC will make the payment in 2 equal instalments for each apprentice. The first payment is after an apprentice completes 90 days of their apprenticeship and the second is after 365 days.
To receive the full payment, the apprenticeship must last for at least one year.
Once you have applied for the payments, you can view the estimated payment dates for each apprentice in your apprenticeship service account.
