Bosom Family Support Charity

Over the past six months, many charities have been affected by the pandemic – through lack of fundraising, premises being forced to close and major annual events being cancelled.

At the start of the year, we visited Hope House in Bottesford. This is the hub of the local charity Bosom Family Support.

Joanne runs the charity to help support individuals and families affected by Cancer. They offer a range of activities from flower arranging, therapy sessions and even just a cuppa and a chat.

During the pandemic Hope House had to close, however Bosom Family Support still continued to support the vulnerable individuals and families whilst they were shielding. They launched the Meal Delivery Service, delivering 2-course meals each week prepared by the Wortley House Hotel.

S Smith & Co donated the funds to support the charity to fund for a weeks’ worth of meals to be delivered to families undergoing cancer treatment.

Due to organisations supporting the service, Joanne and the team of volunteers have delivered 1,533 meals to families over a 23-week period.

Their fantastic achievement has helped many families and they are now starting to run activities again back at Hope House.
