As promised by the government, the cash grants for small businesses are now available to apply for. It was advised that your local authority will contact you direct if you are eligible, however this is now not the case for all councils. North Lincolnshire Council have now put an application form on their website. They are aiming to process claims to enable payment to be made on or before 3rd April 2020.
Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant
If you are in the retail, hospitality or leisure sector, you will be entitled to a grant of either £10,000 or £25,000.
If your business property has a rateable value up to £15,000 you will receive a grant of £10,000.
If your business property has a rateable value between £15,000 and less than £51,000 you will receive a grant of £25,000.
You are eligible if –
• Your business is in England
• Your business is in the retail, hospitality and/or leisure sector
• Your business has a rateable value of under £51,000
Small Business Grant
If you do not fall into the retail, hospitality or leisure sector, a small business grant is available to businesses that currently pay little or no business rates. If your claiming Small Business Rates Relief (SBRR), you could be eligible for a £10,000 grant to help meet ongoing costs.
You are eligible if –
• Your business is in England
• You are a small business and already receive SBRR and/or Rural Rate Relief
• You are a business that occupies a property
