We appreciate you may have queries in relation to your employees and making payments to them for their wages. If you have any queries you’d like to discuss, contact the office via email and we will be in touch as soon as possible to provide advice.

If you have any changes to your payroll for your employees, please email payroll@sjas-limited.co.uk and we will make any amendments to your wages. See below the most updated information we have on the SSP Reclaim and Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.

Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme

As opposed to laying off your staff during this hard time, HMRC have advised that all UK businesses, will be able to continue paying their employees’ salary and be repaid for 80% of this. The guidelines at present state, you need to designate your workers as ‘furloughed workers’ and notify your employees of this change. A furloughed worker is an employee being kept on the payroll, rather than being laid off.

Employers will need to submit the information to HMRC about these selected workers through a new online portal. HMRC will reimburse 80% of furloughed workers wage costs, up to a maximum of £2,500 per month.

It has not yet been advised how the reimbursement system will be set up, as soon as progress has been made on this, we will let you know.

Update on SSP Reclaim

As we are aware employers with 250 employees or less can reclaim statutory sick pay, for their employees for the first 14 days.

A rebate scheme is currently being developed on how this will be refunded. As soon as we are aware of developments on this, we will let you know.
