As our business continues to grow, we are excited to welcome a Semi Senior Accountant to join our supportive and close-knit team.

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practice accountant who enjoys variety, responsibility and building great client relationships.

Reporting to a Manager or Director, you will have a high level of autonomy over your own work while always having the support of the wider team. You will look after a diverse portfolio of SME clients and play a key role in delivering a first-class service every day.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Managing the day-to-day servicing of a portfolio of SME businesses and their owners
  • Preparing statutory accounts
  • Personal tax and business tax computations
  • Calculating and filing VAT returns
  • Producing monthly management accounts
  • Supporting clients with cloud accounting solutions
  • Assisting with cloud accounting migrations
  • Working on ad hoc projects alongside Managers and Directors
  • Supporting and training junior members of the team
  • Building strong and lasting relationships with clients
  • Always delivering an efficient, friendly and professional client experience

About you

We are looking for someone positive, supportive and motivated, who takes pride in their work and enjoys helping clients succeed.

Ideally you will

  • Have at least two years of experience working within an accountancy practice
  • Be AAT qualified with strong hands-on experience
  • Have good personal and business tax knowledge
  • Be confident working to deadlines and targets
  • Enjoy working both independently and as part of a team
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with clients
  • Have experience with cloud accounting software, particularly Xero
  • Bring a practical, positive and professional approach to your work
  • Have good technical knowledge
  • Payroll experience would be an advantage, but is not essential
