After a bank holiday weekend, the S Smith & Co team have now returned to the office. We hope you all have had a lovely bank holiday weekend enjoying the sunshine. As we are now into June, we would like to remind you of the key accounting deadlines in June.

As we are seeing the easing of lockdown, there are changes being implemented which might affect your business, so do not miss these deadlines.

7 June – Deadline for VAT Returns submission and payments of accounting quarter period ending 30 April 2021.

14 June – Last day to make CJRS claims for May.

21 June – Last day to opt into the online VAT Deferral New Payment Scheme.

22 June – Monthly deadline for electronic payment of PAYE, NICs and CIS to HMRC.

30 June – Deadline to file accounts with Companies House for the accounting periods ended 30 September 2020.

30 June – Last day to agree extra help to pay any deferred VAT with HMRC.

30 June – One-year business rates holiday ends, for the retail, hospitality, and leisure industry properties.

30 June – Stamp Duty Land tax holiday on properties worth up to £500,000 ends and will be replaced with the new thresholds up to 30 September 2021:

The SDLT thresholds will be:

  • £250,000 for residential properties
  • £150,000 for non-residential land and properties
