Michelle has been with the team as our payroll manager for 2 years now. Since joining, she has built up great relationships with our clients – not only in payroll, but across our whole client base.
Michelle has developed many new skills, from completing monthly bookkeeping, to completing quarterly VAT returns and annual Self-Assessment returns. Her role varies and no day within the office is ever the same!

What have you enjoyed the most about the past 2 years at S Smith & Co?
I have enjoyed the variety of the role, although I specialise in payroll, I have had the opportunity to work on various accounts from sole trader through to limited companies and this has kept my role stimulating. Building up relationships with the clients is a part that I have really enjoyed.
What new skills have you gained from working at S Smith & Co?
I have gained much more knowledge of the technical side of accounts. I am now using these new skills in my everyday work.
How have you found working with payroll through the COVID pandemic?
Very much a learning curve! But I always like a challenge so I think I have rose to the occasion really well and we have offered an exceptional service to our clients throughout.
What is your favourite thing about working with the S Smith & Co team?
Everyone is very friendly and the team work very well together. Although we have a variety of different ages within our office, we are like a family.
