We’re excited to welcome Claire to the S Smith & Co team! 🎉 We asked Claire some questions for you to get to know her better.

💼 Role: Semi Senior Accountant

🐈 Dogs or cats:

Definitely cats, I have three.  I love dogs too but the cats always rule and they are so funny.  I love the fact they are the only animal to have chosen to domesticate themselves for an easy life – so cat.

👶🏼What advice would you give your younger self? 

Have confidence in yourself, you’re better than you think!  There’s always something new to learn so you can’t know everything, you just need to know where to look it up.  Asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.

🌳What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

You will usually find me at a Pilates class or out in nature. I live in a village and love how the scenery and animals we can see change from week to week.  I encourage wildlife in the garden; I especially like watching the baby birds and squirrels learning to fend for themselves.

💼What do you enjoy most about working at S Smith & Co?

It is so easy to slot into the fabulous team here.  I also love that every day is different, there is always something new to learn and so much variety.  It’s great knowing I am helping people every day so they can concentrate on the other areas of the business.

🎧 Favourite way to work?

It depends on what I am doing. I like music in the background generally, but if I am doing something complicated then earplugs in and silence.  After working from home for several years I am really enjoying being office based again and the benefits of being on site with the team.
