We would like to congratulate Nathan on his second work anniversary as part of the S Smith & Co team. We would like to thank Nathan for his dedication to the team and his hard work. Nathan has a good team spirit and always brings his love of football to the office. 🌟
My role has developed a lot because when I first started at S Smith & Co everything was very different to the course I studied at college. However, over the last 2 years I have developed my knowledge which has allowed me to take on new tasks such as payroll and limited company accounts along with answering client queries.
One of the many reasons I enjoy working at S Smith & Co is the team. Everyone gets on so well at the office and always look to support each other in their work, so the team has been a huge factor influencing my experience here. Everyone in the team feels comfortable asking for advice and that helps everyone to develop.
I have always been quite good when it comes to working with numbers and leaving school, I had no idea what I wanted to do in the future. When applying to college I thought that even if I didn’t enjoy accounting it was a good A level to have. I then started to pick things up quickly and decided an apprenticeship in accounting was what I wanted to do.
One thing I would say is that accounting isn’t as boring as it is made out to be. If you have a fun, positive team around you then it makes everyday at the office different and enjoyable.
I would say my favourite biscuit would be a Fox’s chocolate cookie but I really enjoyed the shortbread biscuits which a client kindly brought in for us recently.
